The Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Athletic program is offered through the St. Philomena parish community for all youth in our parish and school. This program provides opportunities for all youth, regardless of level of athletic talent, to participate in an organized sports development program, with an emphasis on the Christian principles that reinforce the positive societal values of sportsmanship, fair play, self-discipline, and honest effort. It is also a wonderful venue for building community here at St. Philomena!! Come on out and support our athletes at games! Schedules are available on the school website and at the parish office.

THE MISSION OF CYO

  • To increase the self-confidence and self-reliance of each child, building character, integrity and leadership skills through the physical and mental challenges of sport and the recognition of one’s strengths and limitations in a supportive atmosphere.
  • To increase interpersonal competence and facilitate the development of teamwork/cooperation within the context of sport – the value of which translates into life skills at work, within the community, in service to others, etc.
  • To increase a sense of caring toward others by playing fair, by being humble in victory and gracious in defeat — respecting the dignity of all people, including one self.
