The St. Philomena extended care program is located in the parish office building beside the school. This program is run as an extension of the school day. Students have put in a full day of school and may or may not choose to use their KIDS’ CLUB time as a study time. A quiet space will be provided if the students wish to work on homework. However, it is not our expectation that the KIDS’ CLUB personnel supervise or require the students to do homework. Many students need a time to relax and take it easy. This is not a program planned for enrichment or many extensive activities, but a place where children may stay with supervision in safety. The students may participate in the before and after school supervision program. Students may arrive from 6:30 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. when they are dismissed to the school grounds. Students must report to KIDS’ CLUB directly after carpool –ten minutes after the hour. 7th and 8th graders may petition to participate in KIDS’ CLUB. Please contact the office for this application. Day-to-day management is the responsibility of the KIDS’ CLUB Director.

KIDS’ CLUB POLICIES AND REGULATIONS:
1. Students may be dropped off at Kids’ Club from 6:30 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. At 8:15 a.m., the staff will dismiss the students to the school grounds. Students may bring food that does not require dishes.
2. Afternoon time- A charge is made from the time a student check into KIDS’ CLUB until pick-up time. Students should report to the supervisor to be placed on the roster as soon as they arrive at KIDS’ CLUB.
3. Students in grades K, 1, 2, and 3 will go outside (weather permitting) for recess until the supervisors take them into the building. This is usually 45 minutes to 1 hour in good weather. The older students will join KIDS’ CLUB either outside or in the building.
4. It is expected that all students will have a snack for the afternoon. Please plan accordingly when packing the student’s lunch. This is very important because it is a long time from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m.
6. Students are expected to treat each other and all supervisors with the respect they treat everyone during the school day. This program is an extension of the school day and all expectations of behaviors reflect school policies. If a student does not exhibit respectful behaviors they may be removed from the program after a conference with the principal. The supervisors will use the conduct referral forms to notify parents of
concerns.
7. All bills are due within 5 days of receipt. If your bill is not paid by the end of the month, your student may not attend the program until your account is paid in full. If the accounts are not current, report cards and records may be withheld.
8. We will have a copy of the emergency form on file with the KIDS’ CLUB supervisors. It would be very helpful if you would give us a list of those who will be calling for your students. If you are sending someone new to pick up your child/children, please notify us either in writing that morning, or by a phone call directly to KIDS’ CLUB.
9. All children MUST BE signed out to leave KIDS’ CLUB. Please park either in front of the rectory office building and come through the building or in front of the church and come to the Learning Center. Do not pull onto the playground to pick up children at any time.
10. THERE IS NO MORNING KIDS’ CLUB ON DAYS WITH LATE START DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.
