Uniform Policy

St. Philomena School uniform

UNIFORMS: Please refer to the uniform policy before purchasing any clothing. ALL uniforms are to fit properly and not be oversized! Please monitor this in your purchasing to avoid conflicts and putting your child in violation of the uniform guidelines. Students may wear navy-walking shorts (within 2 inches of the knee) in September and October. Remember all students need a sweater or uniform sweatshirt for Friday masses, which begin on Friday, September 5th at 9:00 a.m. Please avoid purchasing shoes with black soles for they leave black marks on the floors. Dennis Uniform is ready to help with sizing issues so we don’t oversize school sweatshirts, etc. If you have further questions, please call the school office.

St. Philomena School maintains a strong tradition of school uniforms that reflect school pride and appropriate regard for personal appearance. Every student is expected to be in uniform every day. If the OFFICE DOES NOT RECEIVE A NOTE EXPLAINING WHY THE STUDENT IS NOT WEARING THE CORRECT UNIFORM, a conduct referral slip will be given to the student to have signed. Continued failure to cooperate in this matter will result in disciplinary action being taken. New uniforms are available through the Dennis Uniform Store, 12608 Interurban Ave. South, Tukwila, WA 98168, (206) 431-2000.

UNIFORM EXPECTATIONS:
To maintain a UNIFORM appearance, the following should be observed:

  • Those students in 7th and 8th grades whose parents allow them to wear makeup shall wear it tastefully. Fingernail polish is considered make up and may not be worn below 7th grade. • All hats are to be taken off as students enter the building.

If a student’s birthday falls on a Mass day, we respectfully ask the student to take their free dress the Thursday before or the Monday after.
  • If an item of clothing or other articles worn by the student are a distraction they may not be worn. i.e. fake tattoos, colored nails, excessive or large jewelry, etc. Holiday accessories may not emphasize secular themes.
